HAPPY WOMAN'S DAY..!
This is woman's day, and being one myself i should customarily start off with the statement "happy woman's day" to boost up the morale and confidence of all the members of the fairer community.
So one of 365 days are people by some means forced to look up to this gender, verbally speak some words of appreciation for them and may be pamper them with flowers and chocolates if they can afford a bit of exaggeration.
It just occured to me that by just dedicating a single day in honour of this gender can the society compensate for the innumerable number of days women have to go through all the hardships in their lives?
Day in day out despite having set all kinds of reservations, special priviledges for women they are socially still not at par with the other gender.
I would acknowledge that being a woman is not all that easy.If u speak your voice you are termed 'oversmart', if you fight for your rights, you are 'too demanding' and if you knock the doors of justice you could be termed 'too bold' and or even 'shameless and unethical'.
A woman's overt speech can be a matter of still more public speculation, criticism and abuse.
It is not as if people do not care..they do,but not in a way of empowerment but in a fashion 'overprotection' .
If she has has not been given the right education,we create reservations and quotas. If she is continually subjected to rape and sexual harassment,we create separate compartments in trains and if she has been offended, disgraced and devalued,at the best "sympathized".
The answer to this does not lie in pitying, sympathizing or showing bereavment.
Its all about changing our attitude towards them, stop thinking that they are "one of the several errors of the society"and realising that giving extra protection only dooms them into the concept of "weaker sex".It requires giving them the right respect and status she deserves.
after all a woman is also another 'human'..she has the right to think and walk free, imagine herself flying high without the strings of various constraints holding her back.
In short she has a right to 'live her life'.
So, today this is a personal message for all of us to stop stocking all our respect, love and regards for just this single day and rather grant her respectful, fearless and mirthful days all through her life.
